What does the Pearl symbolize?

I personally think it symbolizes greed and danger because that is all it has brang ever since it first showed up.

I think the Pearl brings out frustration out of Kino because when Koyotito got stung Kino just got really mad instead of trying to fix it. I think the Pearl brings out cautiousness because when Coyotito got stung she immediatly started to try to fix the problem and she is always cautious of everything. I think the Pearl brings out gossip in the Neighbors because they talk alot about it and get really excited every time something new shows up. I think the Pearl brings out greed in the doctor because he would only help patients if they had money. I think the Pearl brings out awareness and bewardness in the Priest because when he found out that Kino had found a pearl, he warned him of the dangers that come with it too.
